Dude, the game was abandoned more then a year ago because coder (and co owner at that) didnt do shit for more then a year straight saying he got health/mental/other issues and illustrator (second co owner) left the project because of frustration that nothing is beying done. Coder then drew a rage letter on patreon blaming illustrator that he blew up the project and so on so forth. Illustrator (S-purple) then hired a small team of coders/animators whom he can make work or replace if they dont (which he couldnt with his co owner) and started making the game of his own in the same theme. I seriously liked the idea of breeding season more but we have what we have. By the way they were making 16k$(32k?) or so on patreon breeding season when it ended and hes making 17k$ by now for hes new project called Cloud Meadow.
prefered breeding season more, and honestly as far as the squable between co-workers goes i couldnt say who is right or wrong. having seen "both" sides of the drama i couldnt care less either. was a breif patreon to clowd meadow, but it lacked so much that drew me to breeding season in the first place. least include the traits sytem, but he is making the game his with "orginality" i suppose. after all, aside from screwing monster girls the games are quiet different.
It's not even a squabble. S-Purple was taking a paycheque for months while working on Cloud Meadow and not contributing anything to the game who donors were paying for. Then since he still legally owned all his art he withdrew his permission to use it, after modifying a bunch of existing assets by other artists so they'd be legally partly owned by him too. If it happened any other way the project could still go on but he struck at the heart with great deliveration. I don't understand why cloud meadow is at all successful, not even because the wretch is running it but it's also pretty terrible.
Necroing a little, but I think he's having success because of people's frustration. We all wanted a good breeding game after all, and if he's trying to do one and worked on Breeding Season (arguably the best game in that genre around, when it was still being developed), then people must assume he knows what he's doing with Cloud Meadow. That, or people genuinely like the game, which seems implausible because it sucks.
Either way we are left with our dicks in our hands and no good breeding game in the other.
